Propylene glycol is the food-grade carrier the flavour sits in — most of the concentrate (90–99%), with no ethanol, so it's alcohol-free. The remaining 1–10% is the flavour itself: the cooling agent and the characterising aroma blend that give it its taste and character. The compounds above with CAS numbers are the principal ones declared on the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
